What we collect
If you just browse or use the API or MCP without an account
- Standard request data our hosting provider processes to serve the site (IP address, user agent, requested URL).
- For rate limits and abuse prevention we keep a keyed hash of your IP address, not the IP itself, with request counts. These counters expire within 7 days. Aggregate usage stats (for example, "requests per endpoint") contain no IPs.
- We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
If you create a free account
- Your email address.
- Account records: when you signed up and last signed in, your API keys (we store only a hash of each key plus its first few characters, name and last-used time), and per-account usage counts.
- A consent record: whether you opted in to product updates, when, and from where (with a hashed IP).
- If an AI agent requested a key on your behalf, the agent's self-reported client name.
- If you connect an AI app (for example an MCP client) with "Sign in with isitsota", a record of that connection: the app's name and identifier, the permissions you granted, and when it was used. We store connection tokens in hashed or encrypted form. These connections stay active until you disconnect them on your account page (immediately effective) or delete your account. They don't expire on their own.
How we use your email
- To sign you in (one-time links and codes).
- For service messages about your account and API keys, such as security notices, breaking API changes or changes to these terms.
- For product updates only if you opted in. The box is unticked by default. Every update email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can change this on your account page.
We don't sell or rent your email or personal data. We don't share it with others for their marketing.
We don't send alert or newsletter emails other than opt-in product updates.
Cookies
One sign-in session cookie (__Host-sota_s), set only after you sign in, which lasts up to 30 days. A Cloudflare Turnstile check on sign-up forms may set cookies needed for bot protection.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare, Inc. to host the site and store data (Workers, D1, KV, R2, Analytics Engine), send email (Email Service and Email Routing), and run bot checks (Turnstile). Cloudflare processes data on our behalf under its data processing terms. We also use service providers that help us operate the site.
Retention
- Accounts are kept until you delete them.
- Connected-app records and their tokens are kept until you disconnect the app or delete your account.
- Sign-in links and codes expire after 15 minutes and are purged within 7 days.
- Rate-limit counters: up to 7 days.
- When you delete your account we delete your email, keys, sessions and usage. We also disconnect all connected apps. We keep the consent history in hashed form (your email replaced by a one-way hash) to show what you agreed to or withdrew.
Your choices and rights
From your account page you can download your data (JSON), delete your account and turn product updates on or off. You can also email contact@isitsota.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to object to processing. We'll respond within the time the law requires.
Legal bases (EU/UK): contract (providing your account and sign-in), legitimate interests (security, rate limiting, abuse prevention), and consent (product updates).
International transfers
Our provider may process data in the US and other countries. International transfers are covered by standard contractual protections.
Children
isitsota isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and notify account holders by email.
